You were totally referring to the Oon-To-Ottawa Trek, where men that would ride the train cars during the Great Depression were all heading towards Ottawa to protest and were sent to those stupid camps! We learned about that in History this semester \^^/

Its a wonder Canada didn't go Socialist, the government was very unpopular, and violence like that happened all the time against protestors. Hell I recon the only thing keeping Newfoundland from turning red back then was its fanatical loyalty to the British Crown.

that is essentially the only reason why canada in its entirety did not become socialist. hence why the west was considered much more socialist, where the loyalty was waning in comparison to the maritimes and what have you.

Yea, less of a history with Britain I suppose. Newfoundland itself was actually very much against confederation until they were pressured into it by Britain (For the better or the worst).
